|Recommended: YesA really nice experience, — Portage Bay West has been one of the best places we have lived so far. The place is quiet, clean and pretty safe to live. The maintenance is quick to respond and Amy, the manager at Portage Bay, has been very very helpful throughout our stay. We liked the pool and the hot tub a lot. The parking place is huge. The only CON we can think of is the high rent. This is as such typical on West side of Davis but a part from that, loved living here.

|Recommended: YesThe best apartments in Davis hands down. — I love this complex. I love the atmosphere here. The staff is SO helpful and friendly, everything is done ASAP. The neighbors are great. It is a more family oriented complex, so there isn't noise from crazy frat guys or anything. It might seem pricey but its well worth everything that is offered. One of the best places to live in Davis.

|Recommended: YesI think it is a safe and friendly environment for people to live in. — I would tell them it is nice and quaint. Anyone who enjoys a quiet community should definitely live here. The apartments themselves are beautiful and made with nice architecture.

|Recommended: YesAMAZING — Management is great, maintenance responds fast. Living in West Davis is way better than anywhere else because it's quieter and more residential. The bus stops right outside the apartment complex and the bike path is right there also.
|Recommended: YesGreat first apartment experience — I've always rented houses or rooms in houses, so I was a bit nervous about moving into an apartment complex after hearing horror stories from friends. However, the people at Portage Bay have definitely made my experience a positive one. Sal and the rest of the maintenance team are very professional and have always promptly dealt with the few minor issues that we have had. The apartment is recently renovated and really nice. When we found out that our dog had dust mite allergies and I asked Amy a few questions about the new carpet and padding, she even offered to have an exterminator come in. The gesture was unnecessary but greatly appreciated.
Parking can sometimes be challenging, especially when one of the apartment complexes across the street was repaving their lot. We've never been unable to find a spot on the street though. To be fair, there is a sizeable parking lot, but the spots on our end of the complex are frequently taken. Thus, my boyfriend chooses to park on the street rather than in the spots on the far side of the complex. I don't own a vehicle and am spoiled with a bike parking spot just outside the front door.
Overall, Portage Bay has been a wonderful place to live.

|Recommended: YesGreat complex — The management and maintenance are kind and helpful. The apartments are a little dated, but are in good condition. The complex is overall quiet, and the neighborhood is very safe.
|Recommended: YesLovely complex and amenities — My roommate and I chose to live in Portage Bay because of its reputation for being a serene and quiet place to live. It has been exactly that for us so far. Maintenance is quick and helpful. The office staff is polite. Best of all, the property is kept clean and the amenities pool, jacuzzi, laundry are pristine.

|Recommended: YesHave Lived Here 3 Years - Never Want to Move — I ve written reviews for Portage Bay since 2011 on Yelp and Davis Wiki, because it is the most amazing place to live. A quiet location, beautiful environment, with a wonderful large pool and hot tub, extremely well-kept grounds. But what makes Portage Bay especially wonderful is the staff. I can t say enough about Amy and Sal and their assistants. They make this community a home and are always so friendly and helpful, going out of their way to make sure all the tenants are taken care of. I have an upstairs two-bedroom apartment and absolutely love the large porch with built-in gardening containers. I never want to leave

|Recommended: YesIts a well-kept, friendly community! — Portage Bay is a very relaxing, quiet community with fairly spacious, affordable apartments. The service is fantastic, and the staff is friendly and cares about the people living here. The landscaping is great, there is no struggle for parking, maintenance is fast and efficient, and you have a lot of privacy. I really enjoy living here, it s been a great place to be when coming home from a long day on the UCD campus.
